Presentation Skills
Module details
We all deal with data, and at some point, we all need to be able to present it effectively to others. But how can you really make an impact? How can you make sure you’re conveying the information that matters most, and that you're going to inspire your audience to action? In this course, instructor Bill Shander walks through how to plan for a data presentation: finding the story in your data, focusing on the “so what”, defining and reaching your audience, using visuals most effectively, editing your presentation, and presenting your data to an audience. Bill covers the whole gamut, from concept to execution, even including some presentation skills training.
Art of Influencing
Course details
Influencing is happening in every meeting you have. Other people are influencing you, and you are influencing them. It's a vital life skill. In this course, instructor Chris Croft brings an engineer's mind to the subject. Chris presents a six-step process that you can follow in any influencing situation, with techniques that you can use at each stage, depending on the type of person you would like to influence. He explains how you can use this process to prepare for meetings and get the best from every relationship, whether at work or at home, with customers, bosses, suppliers, friends, or relatives. Chris goes over the ethics of influencing, as well. Understanding the psychology of influencing helps you to build better relationships and get better outcomes with everyone you meet.
From this module, you will learn
1. Name a feeling that might inhibit you from inspiration-based influence.
2. Explain how to most appropriately balance short-term and long-term results.
3. Assess why “pains and gains” is a powerful motivator.
4. List the steps of the advice influence technique.
5. Identify the first thing you do when using social proof.
